"Let me talk to him...your buddy with the eye-liner."-Jim LeFleur
In an episode sprinkled with extra Sawyer-isms, this one topped the list. LeFleur's quick-quipped response to Faraday, "Thanks anyway, Plato," came a close second. Yet I'm a sucker for the endless nickname possibilities Myles Joel Osment brings to the table. Bonzai. Priceless. Also, while we're on the subject of honoring LaFleur-- Guy (pronounced Gee) LeFleur was the name of the blonde kid in Mighty Ducks who hooked up with Connie, the only chick on the original Ducks team (not counting the figure skater who joined up halfway through the season and Julie the Cat who was recruited for the sequels), Conie was the cute record store chick that both Hurley (and I) had a crush on, Guy LeFleur scored hat tricks, Jim LeFleur...HAT TRICK! Take that Jack-ass! Jack tried to get down with all the ladies and only succeeded when he left the islnd and no longer had to compete w/ our main man. Would've liked to have seen LeFleur w/ a 70's porn stash though.
Thank god they brought back the 4-toed statue. At least we know now that it was built way in the past and must be linked to the well-dressed indigenous people. I say way in the past because the well wasn't built yet but the statue was standing tall. I say well-dressed because it appears that Richard's style is timeless. Blue shirt, gray slacks, boom! Ready to hit the finest island outside the sonic boom fence.
I'm confused about Amy's dead husband, Paul (really starting to get sick of me not picking up on any significance of New Testament references), and why the Indigenous Hostiles would kill him and brown-bag Amy. She wasn't pregnant, therefore they'd have no interest in her unborn child becoming a potential leader. As far as my CSI skills can tell Amy and Paul were having a picnic outside of the DI's designated area. The plan was to take Amy with them (bag over the head, put down on her knees, tied her hands up). The Hostiles caught them and they were either A) Not supposed to be outside their perimeter based on the truce B) Words exchanged before Sawyer and company got their that angered the Hostiles C) More history between these specific Hostiles and Paul/Amy D) She was being abducted/recruited by the Hostiles (this is my bet- more on this later) or E) They were just being dicks like those punks who threw trash cans at my mailbox and a bowling ball through my windshield. Fucking 70's, man. Fucking 70's.
P.S.- have we seen that cross before? the weird one that Paul wore?
Seemed to me like Horace was manipulating Amy a good deal to get her to give over Paul's body. Did he teach Ben all he knows about manipulation? Remember after Ben annihilated the DI he affectionately closed Horace's dead eyes. But did LeFleur teach Horace a little thing or two about manipulation?
The Truce. It's hard for me to accept that the Hostiles would allow the DI to conduct experiments on the island. That is, unless they were needed and called in to set up the Pearl Station (the numbers and the button where Jughead was buried) in order to scientifically create a way to release the pressure that builds up in the H Bomb. In exchange for this highly scientific purpose, the Hostiles allowed the DI to set up some stations. But is this Truce the same on that Ben and Widmore are supposed to abide by?
The talk between LeFleur and Richard was my second favorite scene of the season (behind the Locke/Ben merkfest). Again with the religious symbolism of "I'm waiting for him [Locke] to come back." I wonder if Richard took this the wrong way as to who Locke is... and therefore everyone has taken this the wrong way. A false God. Widmore believes Locke is special. We know Widmore is still on the island at this point. It was Ben who tricked Widmore off the island, and Ben isn't there yet. So did Richard report back to the Hostiles with the message "John Locke will rise again?" and everyone gave a big ole "Hallelujah!" (Would love to see Rose in that scene, with Bernard standing awkwardly next to her, trying to "feel" the faith.) Is this how Widmore knew that Locke had left the island to bring everyone else back- because he had seen the 06 return in the 70s? I'm still of the belief that Locke actually is special.
Jim is the Workman. We know that eventually this will be the job of Ben's father. So our 815 Passengers have to get out of the DI before it's destroyed. Do they seep into the junle and become one w/ Richard's Hostiles? Is that why Kate found the fake beards and costumes in one of the Others' stations? Jack and LaFleur and Hurley, etc, have to use these disguises in the future b/c in 2004 they are still on the island (aged 30 years) but their younger selves just crashed there. That would be a major freak out, seeing your older self there. Or are we to believe that they'll all die before Flight 815 crashes down? Or will they time jump again?
I think this is where the "Lists" come in. The Others make lists of the people they need to abduct...Anna Lucia's people were taken. Ethan was ordered by Ben to make lists as well. And then Michael delivered Jack, Sawyer and Kate in exchange for Walt. Perhaps they only abduct people on 815 that they have already been on the island before? Richard knows who these people are, had created files on them because he's been tracking them since their birth...
And just when you thought LOST didn't bring Pop Culture into the fold, they show re-upped its Baby Fever "coincidentally" at the same time as all this Octo-Mom news! Amy and Horace have a son and it all works out. We have reason to believe this baby is someone significant. Firstly, this is LOST and everything is linked. But secondly, Amy isn't going to be around much longer. When Ben arrives on the island, Horace already has a new wife. And Horace seems to have no son of his in sight. In fact, at that point Horace even seems a little worn down and beaten. So my bet is Amy goes with the Others (she was going to be taken in that scene we saw) and raises her son as one of them. The son...Goodwin. Pure speculation, but Goodwin and Goodspeed seen similar enough to be a little switcharoo for the good of the child? And how pseudo-Oedipus is that Juliet would C-Section her future-fuck buddy out of Amy's belly?
On the second baby, the one made by Kate's egg and Jack's sperm, which must have been way out of breath by the time they go to the uterus-- not because it's such a long trip, but b/c they share DNA w/ the doc. Is there baby going to be born and become someone that we know and love? Or did something happen with this plane crash that caused infertility to take over the island. It seems to me that Ben is a human-morning after pill. Except its like a 9 month after pill. Babies can't be born when he's around... and so Kate will give birth and die. It will be interesting to see if Juliet tries to deliver the baby, and if Kate dies, does LeFleur blame his new blonde lover? It seems to me that the writers are hyping up the epic romance between Kate and Sawyer, not Kate and Jack. Separate for 3 years, they find new love, but ultimately return to their true love. Kind of like the Notebook... not that I've seen it numerous times...
"Too many questions."

As most of you know I am a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan, so with the news of TO being released I have been asked by many my feelings and tomorrows post I will comment about this. Before I end the post:
Movie Quote yesterday was Bull Durham.
Todays quote: "Tell me something my friend. You ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight?"
Question of the Day: If you could travel back to any time period what would it be and why?
