Weekend Report

So there is no Holy Lost today as there was not a new episode of Lost this week, so we will not have a post from Mos Jef, so you are stuck with me for the day.

Once a week I am going to try to give you a quick synopsis of movies opening the upcoming weekend.  If there is going to be new cds and other entertainment I will also make my comments about that.  As an avid movie fan I like to think I have good taste, if you disagree or agree with my comments let me know and if you want to add your comments for all the readers out there post a comment.

There are three movies opening up Nation wide this weekend: The Last House On The Left, Miss March and Race To Witch Mountain.

The Rock should have stayed in wrestling if he is going to do movies like this and the Game Plan.  Are you kidding me, this movie look God Awful.  You would need to pay for my ticket and get me popcorn, milk duds and a cherry coke to go see this movie.  The premise is the Rock, a taxi driver has "Aliens" come into his cab and the only way to save the world from some sort of attack is to get to Witch Mountain.  DO NOT see this movie, this will win worst movie of the year hands down.  How does the Rock pick this movie to do, is he really getting zero offers for movies?  I give this a 0 out of 10.

The second movie is Miss March.  Another movie that does not look good, however this movie will be significantly better than the Witch Mountain because of hot girls.  This is trying to be a college/high school movie of the 90s unfortunately those great movies are a endangered species.  We will not have any more good college movies like: The breakfast Club, Can't Hardly Wait, American Pies etc.  This movie can be entertaining if you are high and get in for free.  I do not recommend this movie.  I will assume its going to be a 1 or 2 out of 10, to much wanna be in this movie.  Pass on it.

The last movie opening this week is Last House On The Left.  Now I am not saying this movie is going to be good but for some reason the movie intrigues me.  I think it is because the trailer is so vague.  All we know is this girl is left for dead after being beat up for some reason.  Then those people for some reason end up in that same persons house where the parents go on to torture and kill them.  I want to know why all of this happens, so I give credit to the people who create this trailer.  I will not see this movie in the theaters but it is the best movie coming out this weekend.  No more than a 3 out of 10, but I if I was able to see it for free I might sit thru it.

After looking at the movies coming out this weekend, I would not recommend going to the theatre this weekend.  Save your $10-$25 you would spend and go get some beers and watch the conference tournaments that are going on everyday this weekend.  Another option is take that money to Best Buy and buy Milk which comes out on DVD this week.  Sean Penn is brilliant in this movie where he portrays Harvey Milk.  Great cast, and very good movie, I highly recommend it.

I will be watching sports this weekend as there is great college basketball on all weekend.  Also there is Tigers first stroke play return which will be fun to watch come Saturday and Sunday.  Get some beer and get drunk watching high quality match ups.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and I will be back probably Sunday, but check in on Friday and Saturday just in case.

Yesterdays Movie quote was: Black Sheep, a great Farley and Spade comedy.

Todays Quote:  "The only true currency in this bankrupt world... is what you share with someone else when you're uncool."

Question of the Day:  If a movie was being made about your life who would you want to play you at the beginning of your life, middle of your life and towards the end of your life?
For me I think I would like my younger years to be played by the kid from Jerry Maguire cause he is kinda cool.  Middle of the road would be Leonardo Dicaprio from Catch Me If You Can because he is the man in that, con man but cares about his family and friends.  I would want my older self to be played by Jack Nicholson because he is my favorite actor.  He is hands down the man.

  1. i think it's easier to answer this question as a guy so here we go! for the younger part of my life i would want that little boy from "love actually" to play me..he is just adorable.

for the middle of my life i would want to be played by one of the soldiers in the beginning of saving private ryan, laying bloody, dead and lifeless by the shoreline. so i wouldn't have to grow old and read your blog anymore.
